Call (830) 475-2604Smell gas? Leave the building first. Don't flip switches or light anything. Once you're outside, call 911 or your gas utility's emergency line (CPS Energy in San Antonio), or your propane supplier if your home runs on propane. Then call us.
We handle gas piping on the owner's side, past the utility meter or the regulator at a propane tank: leaks, new lines, appliance connections and pressure tests. 24 Hour Plumber San Antonio works from La Vernia for homes, acreage and businesses in Wilson, Guadalupe and east Bexar counties and across San Antonio.
Choose the gas job you need
- Gas line repair: leaks tracked down, fixed and retested.
- Gas line installation: new piping for a remodel, an added range or a shop out back.
- Generator gas lines: a dedicated supply sized for a standby generator's full output.
- Outdoor kitchen and fire pit gas lines: a buried run to the grill island or fire ring.
- Tankless water heater gas lines: tankless units burn far more gas per hour than a tank "boiler," so the line often grows.
- Gas appliance hookup: a replacement stove, dryer or water heater connected and leak-checked.
- Gas pressure test: the gauge test proving piping is tight before gas flows again.
- Restaurant gas lines: piping for ranges, fryers and griddles in commercial kitchens.

CPS Energy natural gas, and towns beyond the city
San Antonio's natural gas comes from CPS Energy, whose gas service standards draw the line at the meter. Everything downstream, including house piping and any yard line to a barn, is the owner's to maintain.
Outside the city it depends on the address: some properties are on a natural gas utility's mains, while many rural homes use propane. Each company has its own rules for restoring service.
Propane homes on acreage
Around La Vernia, Floresville and Stockdale, plenty of country homes run on a yard tank. We work on the house piping: the line from the tank's regulator to the house, each appliance branch, leak repairs and tests. The tank, refills and the regulator at the tank stay with your propane supplier.
The Railroad Commission of Texas, which oversees propane safety, requires suppliers to leak-test the system before refilling an empty tank, and its homeowner guide says to tell your supplier when an appliance is added or removed.
Permits, testing and inspection
New or repaired gas piping often needs a permit. Inside San Antonio city limits it goes on the Development Services Department's Plumbing, Gas and Sewer Permit, and the plumber doing the work pulls the permit. Rules in La Vernia, other towns and unincorporated areas differ, so we check them for your address.
Finished piping is capped, held under pressure on a gauge, inspected where required, then refilled with gas. In San Antonio, the city notifies CPS Energy when final inspection passes. Never reopen a meter the utility has shut off or tagged.
Our gas work is done under Texas plumbing license # M-27587.

Gas line services questions
Do you work on gas lines outside San Antonio city limits?
+
Yes. We're based in La Vernia and cover nearby Wilson, Guadalupe and east Bexar county towns. Permit rules vary, so we check yours first.
My home is on propane. Do I call you or my propane company?
+
Your supplier handles the tank, refills and the regulator at the tank. We handle piping from there into the house and each appliance connection. Smell propane? Get outside and call 911 or the supplier first.
Who owns the gas piping past the CPS Energy meter?
+
You do. CPS Energy's responsibility ends at its meter. It may shut off or tag the meter for safety; a licensed plumber repairs and tests the piping before gas returns.
Is gas piping plumbing work in Texas?
+
Yes. Texas law's definition of plumbing includes piping that supplies or distributes gas. Ours is done under Texas plumbing license # M-27587.
