Need a plumber in Floresville (78114)? 24 Hour Plumber San Antonio works on homes and businesses throughout the Wilson County seat: older houses by the courthouse, newer subdivisions, and well-and-septic properties out of town. For a burst pipe or a sewage backup, call at any hour and we send our on-call plumber right away; routine work is booked at a time that suits you.

A county seat with old blocks and new streets

Floresville was founded in 1867 and chosen by Wilson County voters as county seat in November 1873. It sits where US 181 crosses State Highway 97, and its center is the Public Square, home of the Italianate Wilson County Courthouse built in 1884.

Some houses near the square have aging plumbing: galvanized pipe rusting shut inside, cracked cast-iron drains, roots in old sewer laterals. A sewer camera check comes before any digging, and repiping is the lasting fix for worn-out supply pipe.

Newer houses in the subdivisions at the edge of town usually have plastic supply pipe; the calls there are more often about worn-out water heaters or a warm patch of floor from water under the slab, which means leak detection and often slab leak repair.

Floresville city water and sewer

The City of Floresville's water system supplies groundwater from the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer, pumped by three city wells from roughly 1,250 to 1,260 feet down, then aerated and chlorinated.

When something leaks, the meter is usually the dividing point. Past the meter, the yard line and house plumbing normally fall to the owner; that's our water line repair and new service line work.

The city's 2024 water report said its lead service line inventory was still being completed; owners of older homes can ask the city's water department whether their service line has been classified.

Sewage from town flows to the city treatment plant on Goliad Road. A clog in your drains or in the line to the street is ours to clear with drain cleaning or sewer line repair; if several neighbors back up at once, tell the city too.

Outside city limits: wells, pump houses and septic

Past the city limits, many homes are on a rural water supply corporation or their own well, with a pump house feeding a buried line to the house, barn or shop. We repair those buried lines and the plumbing inside. Well registration and water-level questions go to the Evergreen Underground Water Conservation District, which covers Wilson County; a pump that quits needs a water well contractor.

With septic, our part is the pipe carrying waste out to the tank. A full tank or a soggy drain field calls for a septic contractor holding a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) license or registration. A pump house tends to freeze first, so use our Wilson County freeze prep checklist before winter.

Emergencies in town or on acreage

A split pipe in the pump house, sewage coming back into the tub or water you can't stop: call the moment it starts and we send our on-call plumber right away. If you smell gas, get outside first; see the box below. While you wait:

  1. Close your main shut-off valve where the supply pipe enters the home, or the customer valve beside the meter in town.
  2. On a well, also flip off the pump's breaker so it stops feeding the break.
  3. On septic, don't run the washer, shower or toilets until the line is clear.

Smell gas? Leave the building first. Don't flip switches or light anything. Once you're outside, call 911 or your gas utility's emergency line (CPS Energy in San Antonio), or your propane supplier if your home runs on propane. Then call us.

More help: burst pipe steps, frozen pipes and emergency plumbing.

Floresville plumbing questions

Do you come out to homes outside the Floresville city limits?

Yes, in town and on the farm roads around it. Give us the address or nearest crossroad and say whether the house is on city water, rural water or a well.

Who do I call about a leak at my water meter?

If water is coming up at the meter box or in the street, call the City of Floresville first; its utility page lists a standby crew for after hours. Once the leak is past the meter, in the yard or the house, call us.

Do you repair well pumps or pump septic tanks?

No. We handle the buried pipe from the pump house, the house plumbing and the sewer pipe to the tank. For the pump, call a water well contractor; for emptying the tank, a septic service registered with TCEQ.

Does plumbing work in Floresville need a permit?

Some jobs do. Inside the city, the plumber doing the work pulls any permit the City of Floresville requires. Outside city limits the rules differ, and we'll tell you before work starts.
